When I decided that it was time for me to pursue my dream of starting my very own sock company, I knew that I wanted my brand to represent who I am as a person. So, now that my product is on the market and my website is up and running, it only makes sense that Apye Socks is a depiction of my inner being– bright, cheerful, playful, positive, bold, and daring. However, I knew it was a mistake to have a brand that only represented me, the CEO of the brand. So, I had to make sure that I was selling a product that appealed to a wide range of people with different tastes. At this point, I feel as though I have accomplished that. Sometimes I visit apyesocks.com and flip through all the socks and admire the progress Apye Socks has made in such a short time.
One of our favorite things to say at Apye Socks is “Feed your need for color.” For me, and all of those who I work with, color is what gets us excited. If you’ve never seen Apye Socks in person or even on the web, there truly is something amazing about the way our socks are hand dyed in France that creates this beautiful, vibrant color that just pops, and lasts even after you wash them time and time again.
Just the other day, I was getting my haircut and I was naturally blabbing on and on about socks to my lovely hairdresser. I was not surprised when she expressed that we share the same love for socks. She explained to me that, for her, working at a salon where the dress code is to wear all black from head-to-toe, socks are a way for her to rebel. She said that her and her coworkers will mix and match socks some days, and socks are a means to maintain some sort of individuality despite the rigid dress code at work.
I love that! Don’t you? That’s exactly what socks are to me. Playful, and fun… Socks can be a way to identify who you are, how you were feeling when you woke up, or when you were getting dressed. Apye Socks were designed to feed your need for color or lack thereof as we sell black and white too ;] So, go ahead and feed your need for color!
Also, Apye Socks would like to note that we are giving away a free FEED coin pouch and purse to the person who posts the most pictures on Facebook or Instagram with apye socks on! Because we have been discussing feeding our need for color, we decided this would be a great time to give back to an organization that works to feed those who don’t have access to food. The FEED Foundation supports organizations that fight hunger and eliminate malnutrition around the world. Please visit their website to find out more about the foundation (http://www.thefeedfoundation.org) and thanks for reading! We look forward to announcing the winner in the next few weeks so start taking and posting pics in your Apye Socks it’s for a good cause.
